New Dresser Love

I mentioned here that I found a chest of drawers at SVDP two weeks ago.  I had been looking for one for quite some time to hold my fabric and other sewing items.  I used to use just a plastic three drawer unit but my constant thrift store fabric purchases caused me to outgrow it.  As promised, here is the glorious unit:
Beautiful sewing chest

In case you can't tell from the pic it's nice and big.  Despite the appearance there are just four drawers but they're all deep.  On top is the mending basket at right (told you I was secretly a 1950s/Depression-era housewife) and a really cool wooden basket that holds thread.  In the top drawer I put patterns.  A few years ago or maybe last year I bought a box full of vintage patterns at a rummage sale for $1.50!

The bins holding the patterns came from Target.  I stumbled upon them awhile ago and fell in love.  Per the title of this blog, I really adore hearts, particularly unique and charming things with hearts on them.  The bins come in shoebox size and smaller and I bought all the boxes my local target carried.  I found some more around Christmas this year and bought them too.  So I have about two dozen of each size.  They are currently available online.  Uh oh.  The remaining drawers hold mostly fabric but also buttons and other trims.

Bucky helped me get everything organized.  Obviously he isn't stored here.  For feline storage I use this:

If ever a photo encapsulated my life this would be it
How do you store your sewing supplies?  Any storage questions/suggestions/ideas?  How do you like my chest?
