Derby Love continued

2010 Derby dress

I had intended to describe my Derby and Oaks outfit yesterday but the post got a little long with all the details of my Friday outfit so I'll finish it off today.  For a Derby outfit I like something that is either very pastel and/or preppy.
The first year I wore a navy Nanette Lepore dress pictured to the right.  The second year I wore another navy dress this one from F21 and much less charming and last year I made myself a dress out of a really darling Lilly Pulitzer fabric called "giddy up" pictured below.  As mentioned yesterday, this year I plan to wear something I already own.  Specifically an old French Connection dress.  I can not remember when or where I bought it but I am guessing Macy's on State Street in 2009 because the only picture I can find of myself wearing it is from then.  This dress has a storied past.

Blair Waldorf wore an all white version on an early season of Gossip Girl.  Any time I can resemble BCW in any way it's a win.  I plan to accessorize my re-run dress with coral-colored cork wedges and a navy horse bit bracelet my mom

bought me for Christmas a few years ago.  It is my dream that one day everyone in our group will wear coordinating outfits but since we're not the Von Trapp family and I'm not Fraulein Maria that will probably never happen.  For now,  I will happily color-coordinate my own outfit.  All that I need now is my hat.  What do you think, should I go with a navy which seems like the most obvious choice or perhaps a coral to match my shoes?  Or maybe something else entirely?  To quote Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, "decisions are the worst".
