Shoe Love

Like most girls in the world, I like shoes.  I kind of don't like to talk about it because it's such a cliche to be a girl and like shoes but I guess it's one of those things that's a cliche because it's true.  As I've mentioned before, I really like Tory Burch Reva flats.  I have them in brown and navy and they seem to go with everything.  Except socks.  I would NEVER wear them with socks.
I do wear them with tights though to work.  The navy ones especially were getting super worn so I decided to try polishing them with good old fashioned shoe polish.  I also did the brown ones because they were getting a little scruffy too and these:

Aside from the above I don't usually wear cheap shoes but I actually like those a lot.  I wear cheap clothes (remember the pink F21 jeans?) but cheap shoes usually just look cheap to me.  Anyways, the polish worked amazingly well.  All three pairs look almost good as new.  Yesterday I got my fabric in the mail as well as my surprise shoes.  I like them even more in person!  I wore them to strength today and they were super comfortable.  Tonight they get to go to Zumba!  Last night I tried using zucchinni in place of pasta in the manner of the carrots mentioned here.  I wasn't as crazy about it although my mother liked it.  I did it with a healthyish homemade Alfredo sauce that I learned how to make in a grade school cooking class.  Do any ALS alums remember our cooking classes?  Here is how you do it.  It makes enough for 2-4 servings:
melt 1 Tablespoon butter
cook 2 cloves of garlic for one minute
whisk in 1 Tablespoon flour
(you are creating a roux, that's a cooking term)
whisk in 1 and 1/3 cup milk (I used skim and it was just fine)
cook until thick and bubbly, this takes about 15 minutes
stir in 1 ounce (2 Tablespoons) cream cheese (again light is fine)
stir in 1 cup shredded parmesan
That's all.  Easy peasy and really quite tasty.
I thought the flavor with the zucchini pasta would be great but the zucchini seemed to make it too watery.  I also added shrimp and surimi (fake crab) which were a great addition but yeah, not crazy about the "pasta".  I would like to try it again with carrot.  Tonight I am making Crispy Southwest Chicken Wraps and tomorrow I'm trying Cottage Pie with Vegetable Mash, both new recipes.  As always, I'll let you know how they go.  Did anyone watch DWTS last night?  I know it is so trashy but after watching it when Donald Driver was on I got hooked.  It's another Monday night tradition complete with Snack Club.  So far I like Zendaya (who I want to call Zenyatta) and Kelly Pickler.  Who do you like?  Do you polish your shoes?  You should.  It's great!
