Kitchen Love

As I've mentioned before multiple times, I love cooking and organization, so naturally, kitchen organization is one of my favorites.  Last year I went through my entire house and organized everything.  I noticed that things were starting to slide a bit so I drafted a schedule for every month that would ensure the house stayed in tip top shape.  February focused on the kitchen, pantry and hall closet.
Due to extensive travel and other lame excuses, we didn't finish up the kitchen until last weekend (March 3rd if you're keeping track).  However, we did an excellent job and I think it was worth the delay.  A couple of months ago I decided I could no longer abide our spice rack.  It was a messy mix of miss-matched jars and it looked terrible.  Plus it was impossible to find what you were looking for.  After much research and deliberation, we invested in three dozen lovely glass spice jars  (OMG they are currently on sale for only $8/dozen!  I want to buy more!  You should definitely buy some!)  We moved all the spices into the jars, labeled them, and placed them on the lazy susan in alpha order.  Here's the finished product:
Yes, the pre-printed label mysteriously reads "cinnamom", kind of charming I think
I can not tell you how pleased I am with it.  In the process of finishing the kitchen organization last weekend I decided we needed to do something similar with stapes such as flour, sugar, etc.  This time we purchased inexpensive plastic storage containers and again labeled them.  I like this too:
We have a lot of different flours
It was a very successful organization project.  Here is the full effect:
Beautiful!
To me the entire point of kitchen organization is to make cooking more pleasant and easy.  To that end, this week I made/am making:  Sunday: Cook's Illustrated Farmhouse Vegetable Soup.  I've made it before and it is delicious!  Monday: Mexican PizzaIt was fantastic and super quick and easy!  Tuesday:  salmon, edamame, and Baked Zucchini Fries.  Wednesday I am having sushi with my sweet friend Rachel and her fantastic son Evan.  Thursday: Skillet Apple Pork Chops, I have made these a couple of times before and they are delicious, healthy, and simple to make.  In addition to these dinners, I have been loving Celestial Seasonings Honey Vanilla Chamomile tea.  Thanks for the rec Nin!  What are you cooking this week?  Is your kitchen organized or are you a bad person?  jk jk
